Dan Schmidt, MA LLPC received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cornerstone University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Leadership and Ministry from Grace Christian University.
Dan approaches counseling and coaching with the understanding that every person is unique and in our uniqueness, we can sometimes get stuck. He is passionate about walking with men as they work to get unstuck, find healing, and find their path to living a fuller life. Dan served as a pastor for 7+ years and a prison ministry chaplain for 2+ years. Much of his chaplaincy work focused on working with men struggling with addiction, identity issues, and faith issues.
When Dan joined the Men’s Resource Center, he brought his experience of working with men struggling with sexual addiction and those who struggle with control and abuse issues in their intimate relationships. This experience serves him well as the principal online therapist for sex addiction and co-facilitator of the Transformations Toward a Healthy Sexuality program.
Dan also works with couples and men who may be facing the challenges of marriage and/or fathering. As a father of a child with special needs, Dan has a heart and understanding for the unique struggles fathers face when caring for a family member who has special needs.
As your counselor, Dan will work with you holistically and walk with you on your journey. He will collaborate with you to achieve your goals in finding hope and healing.
Over the course of his career, Dan has worked with people in many different situations. He would love to get to know the unique nature of your story.
